The history of the Trapa begins in 1810, when a community of trapenses
monks settles in the property fleeing from France because of the Revolution
of 1789. First they were in Zaragoza and other sites of the peninsula,
but despues of the napoleonica invasion (that affection to the Balearic
ones) did not come to Majorca. Canonigo Pere Roig is going to make its
available the property that tapeworm in the valley of Sant Josep de Sa
Palomera de S'arracò. The community of trapenses was formed by
8 chaplains and 32 clerigos, the abbot was called Simeò Carracedo.
