The marine colonies of birds and rapaces are the birds that more contribute to characterize the ecosystem faunísticamente. By her geographic situation privileged person, sa Dragonera is also singular strategically important point during the autumnal migration of the birds. Between the marine birds they emphasize the colonies of gull of Audouin, pardelas cenicientas, pardelas pichonetas, cormoranes and paíños. The colony of common gull specially is elevated and has been object of demographic control from year 1989 because of the strong incidence that has its increase on the population of other species of birds. In sa Dragonera is the greater colony than it exists at the moment of hawk of Eleonor. The common dolphin and the galápagos are species of frequent vertebrates in these waters. Time back, at least until the first third of century, was possible to find in the zone a marine mammal of the family of the seals, denominated popularly vell marí (seal monk). This animal has been extinguished in the Balearic Islands, but its presence in sa Dragonera is documented and topónimo of the island is reflected in some (cave of vell mari ').
